Why use a password generator?
Humans are predictable — we pick names, birthdays and simple patterns that attackers guess in seconds. A randomly generated 16-character password with mixed character types has so many combinations that brute-forcing it would take longer than the age of the universe.
Tips for better security
- Use a different password for every account — one breach shouldn't unlock everything.
- 16 characters or more is the sweet spot for important accounts.
- Store passwords in a reputable password manager so you don't have to memorise them.
- Turn on two-factor authentication (2FA) wherever it's offered.
Is it safe? Yes — this page uses crypto.getRandomValues(), the same cryptographically secure random source your operating system provides, and runs completely offline after loading.
