How to compress an image
Drop your image above, choose a quality level between 10% and 95%, and click Compress. For most photos, 70–80% quality looks identical to the original while cutting the file size by half or more. WebP usually gives the smallest files; JPG is best for compatibility.
Tips for the best results
- Photos compress best as JPG or WebP; screenshots and graphics with flat colors compress best as PNG.
- If the result is still too large, lower the quality a little or resize the image first with our Image Resizer.
- Removing metadata first with the EXIF Remover also shrinks files slightly.
